Making A Change – (An Important Update)

Making A Change

If you didn’t notice, we were pretty quiet most of 2019. As you may have seen via our social media announcement, DJ and I made the decision to divorce and as a result, a ton of things have obviously changed for us personally.

Together, we overcame so much and tore down so many generational strongholds. We turned our finances around, lived in an RV to help pay off $130,912 debt. We saved ferociously to buy our first home in California and take our first real tropical vacation.

We dealt with health emergencies and sudden family deaths with grace and in the best way that we could. We obtained advanced education and built our careers in exponential ways.

At last, we created this platform to help people understand that no matter where you come from, your story can change and you can have financial stability and freedom.

Yet, with all of these amazing things, sometimes you still have to go your separate ways. This may be the end of our journey together but it does not negate all of the great things we’ve accomplished as a team.

So, what does this mean for Pennies to Wealth?

Nothing much really, seeing that most of the content came from my point of view anyway. DJ and I have decided to continue things mostly how they have always been – you seeing my face and hearing my voice and him helping me get things out behind the scenes.

However, when you see future personal finance updates, it’ll only be me sharing. Hopefully, you’ll still stick around, if not, I wish you the best haha.

A Word From DJ

As you can imagine, this is an extremely hard decision for us to make. We’re choosing to do what will ultimately be best for our personal lives, but as Dannie said, this does not negate any of the work we’ve done so far.

This platform has turned out to be more of a blessing than we could have ever imagined and I am SO glad that Dannie sat me down one day and said that she wanted to start a personal finance site. Through PTW, we’ve been able to touch and inspire thousands of people and I am happy that Dannie will be continuing to share with you all because it is definitely needed (plus, y’all LOVE her).

Our personal lives may be going through a huge change, but you can rest assured that Pennies to Wealth will remain a great resource to help you with your financial journey. Thank you all for being part of our family and for accepting us as we are.

I wish you all the best. Take care!

In the next few days, I’ll (Dannie) be sharing my new budget, goals, and plans for the future. I hope to talk with you soon!

I’m so very sorry to hear this. You guys look like such a cute couple. But, I will have been married 20 years in April and I know, it is not easy. I wish you both the best. 🙂
